Seth and Penny, the proprietors of Clifftop Cabins, made Kaikoura their home for their family in 2018. They live with their three children, Jack (10), Otis (7) and Albie (3).The Dover Cottage property where the cabins are located has been in Penny’s family for three generations.

For the first year or two they were in Kaikoura, Penny hosted guests on their property who were after a glamping experience, but then came the time to upgrade the accommodation and provide a more permanent place for guests to stay.

As a builder, Seth was able to design and build the three cabins, understanding exactly how the cabins should look to complement the Kaikoura landscape. Penny then offering her eye for detail was able to turn the buildings into comfortable dwellings to welcome guests.

The couple who love to host and entertain, understand that it’s the small touches that sometimes matter the most and have set about to create three spaces that are filled with everything you need to create a home away from home.

THE CABINS

Located on the picturesque Kaikoura Peninsula, just walking distance to the beach, local Cafes & restaurants, you’ll find the three Clifftop Cabins. Nestled on the cliff with unmatched panoramic views, Clifftop Cabins provide you with a unique accommodation experience. Our beautifully built and designed modern cabins offer all the comforts of home, in a truly unique and breath-taking location.

Enjoy magical sunsets from the outdoor bath or relax on the lawn and try to spot a passing whale or pod of dolphins. While the cabins undoubtedly boast one of the best views Kaikoura has to offer, you’ll be surprised to know we’re close to town and the restaurants & cafes are only a two minute drive, or 30 minute walk away.

If you’re keen to soak up the sea, we’re just a a short stroll down Dempseys track to the beach front where you can enjoy safe swimming or sunbathing.

We get that sleeping in a bed that’s not yours can sometimes be challenging. That’s why we’ve invested in a comfortable King-sized bed in each room. Like any decent accommodation, we’ve got a range of toiletries available to use, as well as all the other facilities you’ll need for your stay.

BEFORE YOU BOOK

Cancellations received seven days before arrival are free of charge. However, cancellations within seven days are not refundable and will be charged to your nominated credit card.

Cancellations

As much as we love kids, we don’t allow children under 10 to stay in our cabins. Given our location near a cliff, we don’t think it’s ideal to have little ones here. It also helps to keep the property a sanctuary for those spending their time purposefully away from little ones.

CHILDREN

Check in is between 2 – 7pm and checkout is requested by 11am. If you require checkin outside those times, please get in touch.

ARRIVALS & CHECKOUTS

Our prices are in NZ dollars. Rates are based on 1 or 2 people using the room unless otherwise arranged.

RATES

We allocate one parking spot for every cabin. Please let us know when booking if you will be bringing an additional car.

Smoking or vaping is not allowed anywhere on the property.

While we clear & clean the rooms thoroughly between stays, we are not liable for loss of guest’s property.
